On Nov. 19, from 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., SSJ Sierra Club will host a special fundraiser breakfast at Lake Forest Elementary School, 4401 SE 4th Ave. in Gainesville.
The Inner City Outings program is a community outreach program that provides opportunities for urban youth and adults to explore, enjoy and protect the natural world.
In June, approximately 10 to 15 students from Lake Forest Elementary School, led by Marvonne Devensky (ICO chair), picked more blueberries than they could eat at the University of Florida’s blueberry farm in Citra, Fla. Now the students are sharing their harvest, which they froze and stored for this special occasion, with Gainesville residents.
The cost for the breakfast is $3, which buys three blueberry pancakes, juice and coffee, but donations above and beyond the cost are greatly appreciated.
If interested in attending, contact Maryvonne Devensky by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name and how many people plan to attend in your party.o.com
