Alachua County is currently recycling 43% of waste and hopes to increase that to 75% by the year 2020. The goal is to turn wealth into waste in our community. The concept is to send recyclable materials to businesses located in a Resource Recovery Park for remanufacturing into goods and products.
Sally Palmi, the assistant public works director of Alachua County’s waste management division will speak about these and other plans.
The meeting is at 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the Entomology/Nematology Building on the UF campus.
